Glory That Never Fades

“Wm. Barker was Canada’s most decorated soldier in the First World War, but in the end, he died a victim of his wartime glory and obsession. He gloried in momentary triumph and public adulation but suffered in private doubt and pain, when the glory faded away.” That’s quoted from a book review in the Winnipeg Free Press. Jesus emptied Himself of all His glory when He came to earth to die on Calvary’s cross. Just before His death Jesus prayed to His heavenly Father saying, “I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do and now, oh Father, glorify me with thine own glory which I had with Thee before the world was.” John 17:4,5 It’s a glory that will not fade away.
