Keeping the Torch of Compassion Alive
It is reported that during the preparation for the Pan Am Games the special torch which was needed to light the cauldron at the opening ceremonies was inadvertently left by the torch bearers in a downtown restaurant after it’s arrival in Winnipeg.
As we enter the new millennium are we still carrying the lit torch of compassion and concern for our fellow man or has it been lost in the celebration of Christmas?
The Apostle Paul said, “examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.” For as one poet said, “an unexamined life is not worth living.”
Let us keep the lit torch always lit and with us into the new millennium.
