Perseverance: The Courage to Keep Trying

“How can you win if you’re not trying?” That is a song sung by Tommy Hunter. Paul said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. He knew that at the end he would win. No wonder he wanted Timothy to war a good warfare. If you fall, get back up on your feet. It isn’t how many times you fall, it’s getting up and trying again that counts. “Let us consider Him that endured, lest we be wearied and faint.” Hebrews 12:3. My granddaughter said to me, “grandma, if you don’t get it the first time, try again and then you’ll get it.” Good advice from a child don’t you think? She knew, like the song says, “how can we win if we are not trying.” Let us keep trying.
