Preparing the Heart in the Advent Season

It’s advent time! Schools are putting the finishing touches on their concerts. The tempo of shopping has picked up and is going on at high gear. Mothers, grandmothers -- everyone is busy preparing for the special event. Are we putting as much emphasis on the spiritual preparation of our hearts to meaningfully celebrate the birth of the Christ child? Let us take our quiet times (as equally as important) and while the other things in our lives have to be done we will be spiritually ready for the event. Then we will be ready both physically and spiritually. As Mary the mother of Jesus said, “My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” Luke 1:46.
