Insulated from the World's Corrosive Power

There is a carnivorous plant which produces a substance that makes the inside walls of its cone extremely slippery. Any insect that lands here will slide down into a pool of digestive juices and is completely digested by the plant in a matter of hours. All except for a beetle larva which has adapted to the corrosive liquid. It lives safely sheltered from predators and feeds on the dead insects intended for the plant. What a beautiful illustration of how we who have appropriated the power of Jesus can be insulated from the corrosive power of worldly desires. Psalms 23:5(a) “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.”
